8 People Hospitalized in Greenville, NC Wreck | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The intersection of Greenville Blvd and 10th Street in Greenville, NC was closed for an entire hour as a multi-vehicle traffic accident was tended to. The crash involved five cars, one of which was a Greenville Fire Department truck and occurred around 11:30am. Angela Shoe, 39, was subsequently charged with DWI, failure to reduce speed, as well as driving with a revoked license.

According to Greenville police, the children inside of Shoe’s vehicle, ages 5 and 9, were injured in the wreck. In total, eight more people were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious in nature. The multi-vehicle car crash closed this major intersection of Greenville. All five vehicles had to be towed away from the accident scene.

It is widely known from numerous studies and case examples that impaired driving is the one of the most frequently committed crimes in the United States today. According to www.duipictures.com  other alcohol-related statistics show the involvement of alcohol in many non-driving situations:

  • 40% of all suicide attempts are alcohol-related
  • 54% of all violent crimes are alcohol-related
  • 60% of all emergency room admissions are alcohol-related
  • 80% of all domestic disputes are alcohol-related

Drivers should be responsible enough to avoid driving when under influence, whether that is from alcohol or drugs. Drunk and drugged drivers are especially scarey when they have kids in the vehicle.
