Accident on U.S. 211 Leads to Loss of Life | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A 42-year-old man named Theodore Dorsey, a resident of Jefferson County, West Virginia (WV), was killed in an accident on U.S. 211. Reports indicate that the driver of an Austin Healey sports car lost control on the right-hand curve of the road, crossed the center line and wound up hitting at least four motorcyclists that were headed east. The motorcycles were traveling in a group of seven.

Joann Dorsey, the wife and rear-seat passenger of Mr. Dorsey, had to be taken to University of Virginia Medical Center, along with another motorcyclist. At least four other motor bike riders were transported to Fauquier Hospital, according to Rappnews.com.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

The Dorsey family should consider speaking with a Virginia wrongful death lawyer to discuss their legal options. We do not know what caused the Austin Healey driver to suddenly cross the center line and crash into the motor bike riders, but if it was due to negligence on the part of the driver, then the Dorsey family, along with the other injured motorcyclists may have grounds to seek damages against the driver’s insurance policy.
