Alleged Reckless Driver Kills Springfield, VA Man on I-395 | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A Springfield, Virginia man is dead, Ernest Campbell, 81, after a two-car crash caused by an alleged reckless driver.

A 2006 Subaru Legacy was driving north in I-395 near Washington D.C., when the driver lost control, running off the left side of the highway. He struck the guardrail, bounced off and flew across the northbound lanes and smashed into an elderly man’s Dodge Dakota truck. The truck spun off the road into a guardrail and flipped over. The 81 year-old driver was killed on impact.

The driver of the Subaru, Edward Flores-Curiel, was not injured, nor was his passenger. He has been charged with reckless driving. Alcohol was not involved in the accident, police stated.
