Attorney Explores Rail Worker Asbestos Exposure and Mesothelioma | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The railroad industry knew of the dangers of asbestos for decades, but it wasn’t until 1989 that the EPA issued a final rule that banned new use of asbestos. The fact that the railroad industry continued to use asbestos materials until the ban was enacted has led to a high percentage of rail company employees with this work-related illness. Unfortunately, it appears the number of rail workers afflicted with this terrible disease will not decrease any time soon.
