A 21-year-old all-terrain vehicle driver has been charged with misdemeanor for causing the death of 8-year-old passenger following a crash with a pickup truck on NC 561 in Franklin County, North Carolina (NC). The ATV driver reprtedly ran a stop sign, and he and another 4-year-old passenger suffered injuries in the collision.

As North Carolina wrongful death lawyers, our thoughts go out to the family of the little boy who lost his life.

ATVs can be incredibly dangerous, especially for passengers. The off-road vehicles are optimally designed for single riders and can travel at speeds above 70 mph. Anyone seated behind the driver can easily be thrown from an ATV when it wrecks. Even if an ATV crash is not fatal, victims often suffer traumatic brain injuries.
