The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective: Our deepest condolences go out to the loved one’s of the passenger. We do not know, at this time, what exactly caused the driver to suddenly veer off the road. Was the driver intoxicated? Was there a mechanical issue? We will have to wait and see what the accident report reveals.  If it turns out that the driver was negligent in operating his vehicle, then the family of the passenger may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim against the driver’s insurance company.
