Car Passenger Killed in North Carolina Head-On Caused by Drunk Driver | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

North Carolina state troopers charged a pickup truck driver with driving while intoxicated and second degree murder after he caused a fatal accident on March 17, 2012. The fatal head-on collision occurred on Highway 17 near Maysville, NC.

The driver of the pickup truck crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming Cadillac. The impact injured the car’s driver, and the deceased victim was a passenger in the car. This is the at-fault driver’s second DWI; he was driving on a restricted license at the time of this deadly crash.

The victims have our deepest sympathies, and we wish the survivor a speedy recovery.

While no amount of money could make up for the family’s loss, those left behind should contact a North Carolina wrongful death attorney and personal injury lawyer to discuss the accident and determine whether a claim should be filed. A financial award could ease financial burdens and represent some measure of justice.
