A pickup truck driver from Cameron, North Caroina (NC), died from injuries sustained in a chain-reaction crash outside of Pinewild Country Club near the town of Taylortown. Construction on NC 211 had caused vehicles in front the man to slow and stop.
A woman driving a Toyota sustained minor injuries when her vehicle was rear-ended by the pickup, but no one else was hurt.
Our thoughts go out to the victim’s family. Construction zones often sneak up on drivers, beginning and ending too quickly for drivers to truly adjust to a change in speed or level of caution.
