Reports indicate a dump truck crossed the center line of the two-lane highway ad hit a logging truck head-on, sparking a fire. Three other commercial trucks were also involved in a chain-reaction of collisions. Two of the truck drivers and one passenger were killed. Three other people were suffered minor to life-threatening injuries.

An accident involving this many commercial trucks is fairly unusual. Which is fortunate because crashes between semis and tractor-trailers are often deadly. It will most likely take some time to sort out exactly who was at fault for which parts of this VA truck wreck. The fact that the various trucking companies may also be considered at fault will make ensuring survivors of the deceased victims and the injured parties receieve compensation that much more confusing.

I encourage all people directly affected by the deadly Powhatan County truck accident to contact an experienced Virginia wrongful death and personal injury attorney as soon as possible. Having a lawyer who specializes in handling commercial truck accident cases can prove invaluable for determining what claims can be filed.

I extend my deepest sympathies to the families who lost loved ones in this accident and hope those injured will recover quickly and completely.
