Chesapeake Car Accident Leads to Loss of Life | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A young man was enjoying a ride in his friend’s car in Chesapeake, Virginia (VA) when his life came to a sudden, tragic end. The driver of the car crashed into the front yard of a home on Ballahack Road. The passenger did not survive the car wreck. He was only 23 years old.

The driver was transported to Chesapeake Regional Medical Center with injuries, but is expected to survive, according to wvec.om.

The details of what exactly caused the car crash are still unknown. Police say that speed may have been a factor in the crash but the car wreck remains under investigation.

Whenever a driver loses control of his vehicle something has gone wrong and it is rarely the fault of the passengers.

My deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family.  Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult things a family can go through, but it’s especially heartbreaking when the victim is so young. As a father, I don’t know what I’d do if I lost a child in a sudden accident. This is a devastating ordeal and I hope the family is able to pick up the pieces after this tragedy.

Obviously, grieving and taking care of those left behind are the most pressing matters. At some point, dealing with financial matters must be addressed including making whatever auto insurance claims are needed for wrongful death for the benefit of the  surviving wife, children and parents.
