Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends. As citizens, we expect our roads to be safe not only to drive on, but to walk along as well. It sounds as though the area was not properly lit. Safety experts say lighting is key to any safe roadway.

Dark roadways can present safety issues for anyone walking or jogging after work. Many of us make a New Year’s resolution to take to the streets in the evening to get some exercise. It’s important to always wear light, brightly colored clothing, preferably with reflective fabrics. It’s a simple way to make sure vehicles see us on the road.
