Child Injured in Huntington, WV Hit-and-Run Accident

Some accidents just make you shake your fist in anger. Take, for example, a hit-and-run collision on Artisan in Huntington, West Virginia (WV), in which the at-fault driver hit a child then fled the scene without stopping to see if the crash victim was okay, the driver fled the scene. The driver decided to put his own interest above that of young boy described by witnesses as "about 5 years old" and having "blood on his face ... [and] in a lot of pain."

The child was transported to the hospital with injuries, according to WSAZ, and police were able to catch the suspect and arrest the man.

After the arrest was made, it was discovered that the hit-an-run driver does not have car insurance, was operating the vehicle despite holding a suspended license, and had an outstanding warrant for failng to appear in court on other charges.

The parents or guardians of the injured boy should speak with a personal injury lawyer licensed to practice in West Virginia to discuss their legal options. The fact that the at-fault driver is facing criminal charges does not preclude the family from pursuing justice through a civil claim.
