Coast Guard Crew From Portsmouth, VA, Saves Crusie Ship Passenger | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

In her first post to our firm’s new Portsmouth, VA Car & Truck Accident Injury Lawyers blog, [URL to come] my colleague Emily Mapp Brannon goes gratefully off topic to recognize members of the U.S. Coast Guard who, serving out of the Fifth District’s base, medevaced an ill cruise ship passenger to an on-shore hospital in North Carolina (NC). Emily notes that Portsmouth was recently named one of only a handful of official Coast Guard Cities. She also observes that thousand of people involved in boat, ship or surf accidents since the Coast Guard set up shop in Portsmouth almost 200 years ago would have lost their lives if they had not been rescued by Coast Guardsmen.
