Pickup Truck Crushed by Concrete Slab on I-85 | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A major crash caused an 80,000-pound concrete slab to crush a pickup truck in early November 2011.  The accident prompted I-85 in North Carolina (NC). According to wbtv.com, the accident involved several vehicles, including three tractor trailers and a pickup truck and resulted from two drivers failing to reduce speed when road conditions changed.

The slab was being hauled by one the large trucks the pickup driver struck. The two other commercial trucks also hit the concrete hauler. Three men in the pickup were hurt, one seriously.

This wreck reminds us there are many people on the roads who fail to reduce speed in response to road conditions, which can cause serious injuries or property damage to others.
