Police stated yesterday that one person died and one seriously injured when a dump truck slammed into pedestrians in downtown Pittsburgh. Investigators reported that the accident occurred on East Carson Street near the Smithfield Street Bridge.

This tragedy is a grim reminder that any car or truck crash that involves pedestrians usually ends with serious or fatal injuries. In most of our work involving pedestrian personal injury cases, the driver of the vehicle is usually at fault, although situations occur where the pedestrian did not cross the street at a designated cross walk. So in that case, the pedestrian could be at fault.
In one of our personal injury cases involving a pedestrian, our client suffered a broken leg when hit by a car in a cross walk. Our team settled that personal injury case for $27,000.
