Disabled Man Hit and Killed by Car in Norfolk

What Happened:

A disabled man was crossing the street at a crosswalk in his wheelchair when he was hit by a car in Norfolk, Virginia. The disabled man later died of his injuries.

The accident happened at the intersection of Tidewater Drive and Norview Avenue. Witnesses say that the victim was coming home from 7-11 when the car hit him. That intersection is known to be dangerous, a witness told police, and drivers often run the red light there. It is not clear, however, if the driver of the car in this case ran the light.

Police are examining the crash to determine who had right of way.

Virginia Personal Injury Lawyer Perspective:

It is not clear at this time who was at fault in this tragic accident. However, it is always a good idea for both drivers and pedestrians to use caution at crosswalks to ensure that tragedy does not result. We deeply regret the loss of life in this case.

A personal injury lawyer consultation could be a good idea in this accident; there is a possibility of a wrongful death lawsuit being filed. This might help to give the family of the deceased a sense of justice in this sad situation
