Disabled Man Hit and Killed by Car in Norfolk | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A disabled man was crossing the street at a crosswalk in his wheelchair when he was hit by a car in Norfolk, Virginia. The disabled man later died of his injuries.

The accident happened at the intersection of Tidewater Drive and Norview Avenue. Witnesses say that the victim was coming home from 7-11 when the car hit him. That intersection is known to be dangerous, a witness told police, and drivers often run the red light there. It is not clear, however, if the driver of the car in this case ran the light.

Police are examining the crash to determine who had right of way.
