In his latest post to our firm’s Virginia Trucking Accident/Injury Blog, my colleague John C. quotes federal data showing that drivers using cell phones, eating, talking or just not paying attention caused 5,474 fatal accidents on U.S. roads and highways during 2009. John also points to research showing that drivers behind the wheels of semis and tractor-trailers have the greatest likelihood to get involved in distracted driving accidents.
