Driver Charged After Two Children Hit, Killed by Truck | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The driver of a box truck is being held responsible for the death of two young children — ages 1 and 5 — following a pedestrian accident in Charlotte, North Carolina (NC). The fatal pedestrian accident took place at the intersection of West Tyvola Road and Shady Lane as the youngsters crossed the street with their father.

The victims were rushed to the hospital, but they passed away a few hours after the accident. If those details weren’t bad enough, reports indicate that the at-fault box truck driver did not even try to help the children after hitting them.

The at-fault box truck driver now faces two charges of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle — one for each innocent victim.

The father should contact a personal injury lawyer in North Carolina to discuss his legal options. The at-fault truck driver is already facing criminal charges, but that does not preclude the father from pursing civil damages.
