Drowsy Driver in East Durham, NC Causes Accident on U.S. 70 | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The driver of a 1994 Geo Tracker on U.S. 70 reportedly crossed the center line and slammed into a 2004 Acura TL between Mineral Springs Road and Laurel Drive in East Durham, North Carolina (NC). The driver of the Acura, Mike Delionbach, suffered serious injuries including broken bones. He was taken to Duke University Hospital and is reportedly in intensive care.

Highway Patrol officers found evidence at the scene and took witness statements indicating that the at-fault driver probably fell asleep while behind the wheel, according to the Herald-Sun.
