DWI Wreck Kills Passenger, Injures Two Others in Pamlico County, NC | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A man accused of killing one of the passengers in his vehicle in a car accident has incurred additional charges for the same accident. The Sun Journal reported that the one-car crash on Creek Point Road in Pamlico County, North Carolina (NC), on January 21, 2012, killed one passenger and injured two others.

According to the newspaper, the driver hit a tree after his Jeep Cherokee left the road. Initially charged with driving while impaired and aggravated felony death by vehicle, the 26-year-old now also faces two counts of aggravated felony serious injury by vehicle. Investigators also determined he was driving too fast for the existing conditions. While unrelated to the accident, the Sun Journal stated the driver also has outstanding charges probation violations, possession of stolen goods and driving with a suspended license.
