An accident involving an East Carolina University bus, one car, and one truck occurred on Friday, February 10, 2012. According to WNCT, traffic was stopped when the ECU bus crashed into a car, causing it to crash into the truck. The accident occurred on 10th Street outside the student center of the Greenville, North Carolina (NC), school.

Five passengers in the car were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, and the bus driver, who is an ECU student, has been charged with failure to reduce speed. The bus operator may face additional charges once the investigation is complete.

The injured victims in the car should contact a North Carolina car accident attorney to determine what action should be taken. Because the bus driver has been charged, those injured could most likely file a claim against him.

In bus accidents, claims are also often filed against the owners of the bus, which in this case is the university. It is frequently determined that public transportation drivers were not properly trained before being put on the road, so those responsible for training the bus driver may be at fault as well when an accident occurs.
