The Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

According to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) 4,609 workers were killed on the job in 2011 which equals almost 90 a week or nearly 13 deaths every day. Losing a loved one in a work place accident can cause emotional and financial pain for years to come. Our lawyers understand how difficult it is to come to grips with filing a wrongful death suit after a death in the workplace. It’s important to keep in mind that waiting to file a claim could affect your legal rights. In all matters involving a wrongful death it is important that actions be taken promptly to preserve evidence, investigate the accident in question, and to file a lawsuit prior to the deadline stated by the statute of limitations. The statute of limitations is a limited period of time in which you can take legal action. In Virginia (VA), the statute of limitations for a wrongful death lawsuit is only two years. If a claim is not filed within this time period, the decedents lose the right to file a wrongful death claim. It’s very important to seek representation for an on the job death through an experienced Virginia (VA) wrongful death lawyer. Not every lawyer is equipped to handle such a case, it takes a lawyer who understands what the family is going through, to offer support and care in the time of grief. Our lawyers believe in treating clients like family, we not only look out for the best interests involving the case but also the well being of those left behind. We have represented many wrongful death victims and have established an excellent track record of gaining our clients the compensation they deserve.
