Fayetteville Woman Killed in Wreck, Driver Charged with DWI | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A 29-year-old woman died from her injuries after the driver of the car she was riding in lost control of the vehicle and wound up crashing into multiple trees in Fayetteville, North Carolina (NC).

WRAL reports that a police investigation is ongoing and it is believed that both alcohol and speed were contributing factors to this fatal accident. The driver was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license, as well as a DWI.
It is so frustrating to read about these types of preventable accidents. Not only does it appear that the at-fault driver was speeding, but it also appears he was intoxicated. I’m always haunted by the thought that if the at-fault driver had exercised more caution, then maybe this tragic accident could have been avoided.

Unfortunately, drunk and speeding drivers routinely cause serious car wrecks. For example, we represented a mother who was injured, along with her two children, after their vehicle was hit by a second-offense drunk driver. Our North Carolina personal injury firm represented the injured individuals and secured a $112,000 settlement.
