Two cases involving firm attorneys were ranked in the top-10 of Virginia’s Largest Verdicts of 2015, an annual ranking published by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. This is an incredible accomplishment since we’re the only firm featuring attorneys who obtained two verdicts ranked in the top-10.
The Virginia Lawyers Weekly Rankings
Each year, this prominent legal publication analyzes numerous verdicts that were obtained throughout the Commonwealth, including verdicts in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Chesapeake, and so forth. The criteria to make the list is as follows:
- The verdict must be for at least $1 million.
- The verdict was returned by a jury in Virginia, not a judge.
- The verdict was returned in the calendar year 2015.
Both verdicts involving attorneys with Shapiro & Appleton& Duffan met this criteria and were large enough to make the top-tier of the rankings.
