The Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

It’s very fortunate there were not more injuries in this accident. When a bus is involved in an accident its passengers are more vulnerable to injury due to the lack of seat belts. During the impact passengers can be sent flying into seats, walls, and other passengers. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an extremely serious injury that may result in a car accident and is a leading cause of death and disability in the United States. Car accidents are one of the leading causes of TBIs. Brain damage in a car accident is often related to the quick acceleration and deceleration of the brain, which causes injury when the brain hits the skull. Even at slower rates of speed, traumatic brain injuries can and do occur. The three most common ways that injures the brain are bruising (bleeding), tearing, and swelling. These kinds of serious brain injuries can cause coma, chronic headaches, loss of sensation, hearing, vision, taste, or smell; paralysis; seizures; or speech and language problems.

People who suffer from traumatic brain injury need specialized legal representation to pursue their case. Brain injury litigation is very complex and unique. Our firm has knowledge of the brain, injuries to it, what insurance companies require before they will pay, and what evidence or damages can be lost or decreased when clients failed to contact us before speaking with an insurance company.
