What Happened

A head on collision in Hanover County, Virginia (VA) injured three people and caused the death of a 50-year-old man.

Police reported to the scene on Cold Harbor Road about a mile south of Creighton Road on January 19, 2013. Their initial investigation determined that a Chevrolet Impala crossed over the double yellow lines and collided with a Honda Odyssey minivan. Four people were transported to VCU Medical Center. The 50-year-old man that drove the Impala died at the hospital, and his passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The other man who drove the minivan suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and his young son suffered minor injuries.

The accident was still under investigation, but alcohol and speed appeared to be factors.
