A woman named Keairra D. Diggs (named in Virginian-Pilot, 10-22-13) was traveling down U.S. 58 near Wilroy Road in Suffolk, Virginia when her life came to an abrupt and tragic end. Her Nissan was hit head-on by a Cadillac CTS that was going the wrong way down the road.
Mrs. Diggs, a resident of Suffolk, died at the scene of the accident. She was only 23 years old.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the Diggs family. Losing someone you care about is never easy, but the pain is made even worse when your loved one is taken from you in a sudden, unexpected manner. It also has to be infuriating to know that this accident probably could have been avoided if the Cadillac driver had exercised more caution and recognized the fact that they were driving the wrong way down the road.
Police do not know, as of the date of this posting, how the driver of the Cadillac ended up driving in the wrong way down U.S. 58.
Our Suffolk law firm has written numerous legal articles on the topic of wrong-way driving accidents. Unfortunately, these types of accidents usually have tragic results where an innocent driver was either seriously injured, or lost their life in the collision.
