Head-On Crash in Hampden-Sydney, VA | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

According to Virginia (VA) Fire News, on the evening of Wednesday, January 19th, 2011, a head-on collision took place at the intersection of RT.15 (Farmville Hwy) and Abilene Rd, in Hampden-Sydney.

Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue units were dispatched the accident, which involved a crash between a Dodge Intrepid and a Ford F-150 that was towing a Ford Expedition. Three victims were transported to Southside Regional Hospital with  what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Our thoughts are with the victims at this time as we wish them a speedy recovery. We also hope that police launch an investigation into the cause of the crash. It is key to determine exactly what happened in order to prevent future car and truck accidents like this one, as well as get answers and closure for the victims.

So many things might have caused this serious crash, which sent several people to the hospital. Perhaps the cars and trucks involved were not properly maintained, as they should have been. Perhaps road surfaces were not kept in good repair, as is the responsibility of the county. Or maybe one of the drivers was guilty of negligent or reckless driving.

If you were in a car or truck accident that you feel was the fault of another party, it is imperative to get sound legal advice as soon as you can. Your attorney will need to help determine the cause of the crash, as well as the best way to prove that liability rests with the other party.
