Hickory, North Carolina Accident Injures at Least Three

What Happened:

On Sunday, July 7, 2012, three vehicles were involved in a car accident at the corner of 8th Street Drive and Catawba Valley Blvd. in Hickory, North Carolina. The damage was so extensive to one car that the roof had to be cut off to get to the injured victims inside. According to witnesses, one car ran a red light and hit the side of an SUV that flipped over. The first car also hit another car that had been waiting at the light. The couple riding in the SUV were extracted by firefighters and EMS workers and taken to Frye Regional Medical Center. The driver of the third car was also transported to the hospital with injuries.

The North Carolina Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

The driver that allegedly caused this multi-car crash was charged with running a red light. While a charge like this is not necessary for the victims to file a civil lawsuit, it will most likely help their cause if they do. This particular accident appears fairly straightforward, but multiple-car accidents can become a confusing mess of insurance companies and differing viewpoints. A North Carolina car accident attorney can help gather evidence, keep facts straight, and make sure any necessary claims or lawsuits are filed against the proper companies or individuals while the victims are recovering.
