Hit And Run Accident on Chapel Hill Road Leaves Child Injured | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A hit and run accident occurred on Chapel Hill Road in Burlington, North Carolina (NC). When police arrived at the scene of the wreck, only one car was present – an overturned 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. Inside the vehicle, a young child was injured and thus taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center. The driver of the 2005 Trailblazer suffered injuries as well.

According to WFMY News 2, the car was hit by a white 2000 Chevy Silverado which caused the car to overturn. The Silverado fled the scene of the accident. Authorities are still investigating the case and anyone that has information is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department.

The North Carolina Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

The injured driver and child probably have grounds to pursue a personal injury claim and should consider contacting a North Carolina injury attorney to discuss the legal options. Hopefully the at-fault hit and run driver will be apprehended. If, however, the driver is never found, then the injured driver may need to look to their own insurance policy and seek restitution through the Uninsured Motorist/Underinsured Motorist component of their policy.
