Hit-and-Run Causes 5-Car Accident on I-78, Serious Injuries to Woman | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A woman named Charisa Cherry, from Trenton, New Jersey (NJ) is currently suffering from major injuries that were sustained in a car accident that appears to have been caused by a car “darting in and out of traffic” according to the Upper Macungie Patch.

The car that darted out on Interstate 78 (I-78) first slammed into an Equinox and failed to stop. The car then hit a Honda Accord and still failed to stop. The resulting slow down of traffic caused a Kia Optima to crash into the car driven by Mrs. Cherry.

According to the news report, Mrs. Cherry’s car was sent into a concrete median. The woman was the only driver with any reported injuries.

The police are still looking for the at-fault driver of the car that initially darted out into traffic.

Mrs. Cherry should consider speaking with a personal injury lawyer to discuss her legal options. This was an accident predicated on the carelessness of another driver and now her life has been turned upside down. To make matters worse, the at-fault driver showed a complete disregard for the welfare of the victims in this wreck and decided to flee the scene to presumably avoid punishment. police.

If the hit-and-run driver cannot be found, Mrs. Cherry should consider filing a claim against her own policy seeking compensation through something called “uninsured/underinsured motorist” coverage. This type of coverage basically requires your insurance company to fill in for the at-fault driver in the claims process.
