I-395 Accident Results in Death of Passenger | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened

While driving down Interstate 395 (I-395) in Alexandria, Virginia (VA), an Audi A8 ran off the road and slammed into a tree. The impact ripped the vehicle in half and sent one end careening over the guardrail. According to WTOP, one passenger died at the scene despite rescue efforts. The driver and two other passengers in the car suffered injuries.

Police say that speed and alcohol were prominent factors in the car crash. The driver of the vehicle has been charged with DUI-related manslaughter.
