I-81 Accident Results in Three Deaths | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A driver apparently fell asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle and caused a serious accident, according to The Sacramento Bee. After veering off of I-81, the vehicle was airborne for about 100 feet before crashing into a bridge support on the interstate. Three people in the vehicle, a 57-year-old man, 54-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old girl, died as a result of the accident. The driver and another passenger suffered broken bones.

The Virginia Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

Safety should always be a concern and when a driver begins to feel extremely tired/drowsy, they owe it to themselves, their passengers, and other drivers on the road, to pull over and rest, or at the very least stop to grab a cup of coffee.

The families of the victims who lost their lives in this terrible wreck may have grounds to pursue legal action against the at-fault driver.
