Ice Cream Truck and School Bus Involved in Head-On Crash in Chesterfield County | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A head-on accident between an ice cream truck and a school bus sent nine people to the hospital. The crash, which took place onCharter Colony Parkwayin Chesterfield County, Virginia (VA) occurred when the driver of the ice cream truck approached traffic too quickly. To avoid hitting stopped cars, the truck driver veered left and wound up hitting the school bus.

According to Fox 8, some of the 24 children on the bus were injured. The students who were injured were taken to St. Francis Medical Center along with the ice cream truck driver. The bus driver was taken to VCU Medical Center.

The driver of the ice cream truck has since been charged with reckless driving in causing the accident.
