Jury: Store Owes $716.5 to Family of Drunk Driving Accident Victim | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

In a new post to our firm’s North Carolina Injuryboard blog, my fellow wrongful death attorney Rick Shapiro reports on a multimillion civil trial jury award to a Florida (FL) family who lost a son to a teenager who was driving under the influence of alcohol. The underage driver had purchased alcohol at the store whose owners were the defendants in the trial. Florida law, like in North Carolina, makes it possible to hold sellers of alcohol liable for harm caused by people to whom they supplied beer, wine or liquor.
