Lawyer Looks at CEO Compensation while Injured Rail Workers Struggle | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

My colleague John C. wrote about the compensation package of CSX CEO Michael Ward. He was recently named to Wall Street Journal’s “Highest Compensated” list. Unfortunately, while Mr. Ward is raking in millions of dollars, injured railroad workers (many of whom have spent their lives working for CSX) are struggling with mesothelioma cancer and serious injuries. If they decide to file suit against CSX for compensation, many spend years battling with railroad defense attorneys. It appears the focus at CSX, and other rail companies, is to place the emphasis on executive pay rather than employee pay.
