Man Fatally Struck by Train in Montgomery County, Virginia | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened

On March 23, 2013 a man was discovered dead in Montgomery County, Virginia (VA) after he was struck by a train. According to a Montgomery County Sherriff’s Office news release, the Norfolk Southern Police Department reported a man had been struck by a train. When officers from the sheriff’s department arrived on the scene with Christiansburg Rescue Squad they pronounced the man dead. The accident took place near Switchback Road just south of Peppers Ferry Road between Christiansburg and Radford.  Police have launched an investigation into the man’s death but have not released any details or the identity of the man killed.
