Man Hit, Injured by Car on MacCorkle Avenue

A wheelchair-bound man was hit by a car while he was traveling in the eastbound lanes of MacCorkle Avenue in his wheelchair. The victim was heading west in the bicycle lane of the road in St. Albans. The driver who hit the wheelchair-bound man was turning onto MacCorkle from DeCharms Street. The victim had to be taken to a local hospital for medical attention, according to WSAZ3.

This accident illustrates the necessity for all drivers to always be cautious and look before onto a street. You have to be aware when pedestrian and bicycle riders are approaching.

The victim should consider speaking with a personal injury attorney licensed in West Virginia to discuss his legal options. It appears, from the facts available, that the driver was negligent in operating their vehicle which may provide grounds for Mr. Scott to pursue a civil claim.

To learn about what types of damages are available through a personal injury claim, take a moment to read this article which discusses the possibility of obtaining damages to compensate for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
