Man Injured In Industrial Logging Accident | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The sun was just starting to wane over the trees on Thursday afternoon in Caldwell County, North Carolina (NC).  When a log skidder used for logging, overturned and fell down an embankment, crushing a worker.  A worker was sent to the hospital late Thursday afternoon, reports WBTV Channel 3.

It took some time for emergency responders to reach him as they had to use 4-wheel-drive vehicles to reach the overturned equipment which was almost a mile into the woods.

He was transported to Caldwell Memorial Hospital with leg injuries.   We hope the man recovers swiftly from his injuries.  It can be very hard for families to cope financially when the main bread winner is injured and out of work, especially in this economy.

Roughly 1.6 million industrial accidents occur in the United States each year resulting in minor-to-disabling injuries and death. Clearly, these numbers need to decrease. Too many hard-working men and women suffer horrendous injuries or die while on the job in these types of accidents.
