A recent investigative report by a North Carolina news station revealed that there have been 4,700 school bus accident victims who have filed claims against the state in the past five years.
The investigation team was able to obtain documents which revealed the amount of money that has been paid out by the state in school bus accident claims to victims for medical bills and property damage. Incredibly, the amount totals $66 million which has been paid out in the past 12 years for damages, or approximately $5.5 million every year.
