What caused the truck driver to cross the center line of the two-lane rural highway is unknown, as are the conditions of the injured victims.

The wreck illustrates how important it is for truck drivers to exercise caution while operating their vehicles. The difference in weight between a truck and a smaller vehicle like an SUV means the damage to the occupants of the smaller vehicle can be severe.

The injured victims should consider speaking to a personal injury lawyer in Virginia to discuss their legal options. We understand how devastating truck accidents can be. For example, attorneys with our firm handled a case in which a car was hit by a truck on I-264 in Norfolk, VA, and a young man lost his life when the car burst into flames. We were able to secure a $3.5 million settlement for the victim’s only surviving beneficiary, his 5-year-old daughter.
