Multiple Accidents Involving Same Car Kill One, Injure Others Near Morganton, NC | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

One man is dead and several others are injured as a result of multiple related accidents. In the first crahs, a 53-year-old man from Burke County, North Carolina (NC), drove off I-40 west of Morganton, NC and hit a guardrail before coming to rest partially in the left lane.

A tractor-trailer then hit the back of the car. A third car crash occurred when a minivan carrying multiple passengers swerved to miss the truck, but went too far to the other side, and hit and killed the car’s driver, who was standing in the roadway. All five passengers in the minivan suffered injuries and were transported to hospitals.

State troopers have not yet charged anyone, most likely because they are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
