Murphy, North Carolina Man Dies in Three-Car Wreck | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened:

A Ford Explorer was driving east on US 64 West in Murphy, North Carolina, and was driving erratically. The vehicle went left of center and slammed into a Ford pickup truck. That crash sent the pickup spinning into a Honda Civic.

According to witnesses, the wreck happened a few minutes after other drivers reported that the Explorer was driving erratically. Police cruisers were dispatched to try to apprehend the driver, but the wreck happened before they could stop the Explorer.

The police stated that the driver was going 60 miles per hour when he hit the pickup truck and he never touched his brakes. The speed limit there is 45 miles per hour.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
