N.C. Teen Killed in Car Crash Identified | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The North Carolina Highway Patrol identified the individual killed in a crash involving an 18-wheel truck on U.S. 158 as a 17-year-old boy. The teenager was originally from Elizabeth City, NC.

This car-truck wreck occurred at the intersection of U.S. 158 and Fire Tower Road. The teenager was driving a Ford Mustang with two other people. Those two passengers suffered injuries. The driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries, according to The Virginian Pilot.

My deepest sympathies go out to the family of the slain teen. He was a senior and honor roll student at Pasquotank County High School. He was involved in numerous extracurricular activities including the Future Business Leaders of America, Track Team and Captain of Step Team, according to legacy.com. I truly hope his loved ones pull through this heart wrenching tragedy.

North Carolina ranks sixth in the country for accidents involving tractor-trailers and this accident only helps cement NC’s ranking in this troubling category.
