Nokesville VA Man Dies in Hit and Run Crash | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

The Prince William County Police Department in Virginia reported Aug. 4 that a 36 year-old man passed away last Saturday morning when he was struck by a car.

Police noted that the hit and run happened near Vint Hill Road and Broadland Road in Nokesville. The police stated that they found the man by the side of the road, and he appeared to have been hit by a car.

The man was declared dead at the scene. It was believed that the victim was walking next to the road when he was struck. The exact time the accident occurred is not clear. Police do not yet have a description or a suspect, and the person fled the scene.

Police believe that the car might have been heading west on Vint Hill Road towards Fauquier County. The car could have front end damage and also damage to the front passenger side.

This tragedy is a stark reminder to pedestrians to never walk close to busy roads. Try to stay on the sidewalk, and if there is no sidewalk, then walk at least 10 feet from the road. It also is important to have on bright colored or reflective clothing so you can be seen.
