North Carolina (NC) Drunk Driver Kills Grandmother and Daughter Injures Children | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What Happened

In the town of Matthews, North Carolina (NC) an auto accident took the lives of a both a mother and her daughter. A grandmother, her daughter and two grandkids were traveling southbound on Matthews Township Parkway. When they began to make a left turn onto Independence Boulevard they were struck by a drunk driver.

Crook and Hunt were both killed in the crash. Hunt’s children who were also hurt in the crash, were treated and released from a nearby hospital. The at-fault driver has been charged with DWI and reckless driving in the crash, with the likely hood that additional charges will be filed.

The Virginia Personal Injury Lawyers’ Perspective

Because of another person’s terrible choice to drive drunk two children have been injured and their mother and grandmother ripped away from them forever. There is no excuse for getting behind the wheel after drinking. Unfortunately, it happens all too often and causes irreparable consequences to innocent families. As experienced Virginia (VA) wrongful death attorneys we have been there for many families in their time of need. While we have successfully provided compensation for victims’ families, cases of this nature also help further the battle against drunk driving; it is an unacceptable and selfish act that will not be tolerated.
