Delvin Edmonds died after being thrown from his bike, and his friend broke his leg. The driver of a Toyota Camry who caused the accident fled the scene. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000, where they can share tip anonymously.

What would cause an individual to flee the scene of a motorcycle or car accident that has caused injuries? The driver may not have wanted to see the injured victims, but it is more likely that he or she feared the consequences of hitting two people. If the individual was using drugs or alcohol, he or she may not have wanted to be caught driving under the influence. Whatever the reason, it is deplorable to think that someone would leave two people to suffer with their injuries. Our hearts go out to Edmonds’ family, and we hope the other rider recovers quickly. It is also our hope that the driver who caused this accident is found and brought to justice.

Even though the driver is unknown at this time, the families of the victims should contact a Virginia motorcycle accident attorney to discuss how to handle any insurance claims or lawsuits that may arise. They can also find useful information in this brochure regarding what to do if you are injured in a motorcycle accident.
