Passenger Dead in Virginia (VA) Head-On Tractor-Trailer Crash | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

What is the world coming to when people can’t control their vehicles? Whether it’s distracted drivers, cell phones or fatigue, drivers all across Virginia and the Carolinas have been getting injured and killed in head-on collisions.

This was the case when the driver of a car collided head-on with a tractor-trailer on Route 8 in Floyd County, Virginia (VA). Sadly a passenger in that car was killed during the truck accident on Virginia Route 8. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also taken to the hospital with injuries.

As a Virginia car accident attorney, I know the family of the passenger who died is grieving right now. Wrongful death cases are always the hardest for our firm’s personal injurylawyers to handle. We know that no amount of money will ever bring a loved one back, but a settlement or jury verdict can help keep the deceased person’s memory alive and take care of survivrs in the accident or negligence victim would have wanted.

Sometimes, when the deceased and the driver had a close relationship, the family is uncomfortable pursuing a lawsuit. Survivors need to know, however, that they are not suing the driver directly. It is their car insurance company being taken to court and it is the company’s responsibility to provide fair compensation for the loss, pain and suffering.
