The Virginia Wrongful Death Lawyers’ Perspective

As personal injury and wrongful death attorneys based in Virginia Beach who have helped many pedestrians hit by cars and trucks, we know that determining the facts of what happened can be difficult. Investigators need to check whether the person on foot of the driver had the right of way, if the collision occurred at a crosswalk or intersection, and whether factors such as bad weather or poor visibility played a role in causing the crash.

We also know that, all too often, drivers hit pedestrians because they became distracted behind the wheel, ignored red lights or stop signs, exceeded spped limits or just failed to watch for people crossing the street. If police learn that the driver who hit the man in Norfolk was negligent or reckless in any of these ways, the accident victim’s family may have grounds to file claims for compensation for a wrongful death.
