Police Officer Causes Crash in Waynesboro, Virginia (VA)

What Happened

A Waynesboro police officer crashed into another vehicle on January 18, 2013.

Investigators say the 27-year-old officer had his siren on and lights flashing at the time of the accident, and was on his way to respond to a domestic disturbance call. The officer’s Crown Victoria smashed into a 2003 Hyundai at the intersection of Main Street and Arch Avenue. The driver of the Hyundai was a 71-year-old woman from Crozet. Both drivers were taken to Augusta Health.

The accident remains under investigation.
